CRM & Email Campaign Platform: Laravel Case Study

Overview

An independent project combining a CRM with email campaign tooling, so that customer records and the campaigns sent to them live in the same system rather than being synced between two. Stack: PHP · Laravel · MySQL

What I built

I developed the backend functionality across three areas:

Customer management - the underlying records, their attributes, and the relationships between them
CRM workflows - how a customer moves through stages, and what the system does at each
Email campaign operations - composing campaigns, targeting them against customer segments, and running the send

Outcome

I engineered a unified backend system that tightly integrates CRM operations with advanced email campaign tooling, powered entirely by Laravel. I took ownership of the foundational customer management logic, defining the underlying records, their attributes, and the relational data structures necessary for dynamic workflow tracking. I built out the campaign engine to allow administrators to compose messages, target precise customer segments, and confidently execute bulk sends. The core architectural decision to keep campaign and CRM data within a single, shared MySQL schema was critical; it meant segmentation queries could consistently run against live, real-time customer state rather than relying on stale exported snapshots, proving that a unified data model heavily outweighs the convenience of bolting on separate external mailing tools.
