Nexon Packaging: Laravel B2B Platform Case Study

Overview

Nexon Packaging is a Florida-based custom packaging business selling into the US market - custom boxes with low minimum order quantities for CBD, candle, skincare, and food brands. Custom packaging does not fit a standard e-commerce checkout. There is no fixed price on a shelf: an order starts as a quote request with specifications attached - dimensions, material, finish, quantity - gets priced by a human, and only then becomes an order. What I built

Customer-facing platform

Customer management for B2B accounts, where the buying entity matters more than the individual placing the order
Quote requests, capturing the specifications a custom job needs before anyone can price it
Order workflows, moving an accepted quote through to a fulfilled order

Internal admin panel

The operation also needed somewhere to actually run from, so the platform includes a separate internal admin application at admin.nexonpackaging.com. That is where incoming quote requests get reviewed and priced, customers and orders are managed, and the business tracks work in progress - the operational half that customers never see.

Outcome

I engineered the complete quote-to-order platform for Nexon Packaging, delivering a unified Laravel backend that handles both B2B customer workflows and the internal administrative operations. I owned the architectural design of the core business logic, converting complex, unstructured quote requests involving dimensions, materials, and finishes into structured order pipelines. By building out a dedicated internal admin application, I enabled the business to seamlessly price requests and track work in progress securely. The entire system is backed by a relational MySQL database designed to maintain strict referential integrity across the order lifecycle. The primary trade-off encountered in this domain was the necessity of modelling a highly flexible quotation stage as a first-class workflow, which required far more upfront data design than a traditional e-commerce checkout flow.
